I was late for a luncheon. I was tied that the staff would put together a to go for me. Everything had been thrown out. They were kind to give me a dessert to go.

I spent some time at Brentwood Country Club and it’s one of those places that just feels… easy. Not in a lazy way—more like everything is dialed in without making a big show of it. The course is beautiful, really well kept, but not intimidating. You can actually enjoy your round instead of feeling like you’re being punished for showing up. The people make it, though. It doesn’t have that stiff, over-the-top country club energy. It’s welcoming. Comfortable. Like you belong there even if you’re not trying to prove anything. Honestly, it reminds me of an inground trampoline (I know, stay with me). It’s built into the environment—clean, intentional, nothing flashy—but when you step into it, it just works. Smooth, consistent, and surprisingly fun.
